REGISTRATION for SACRAMENTAL PREPARATION
(first communion and first confession)
Registration for all children in grade 2 and up both in Catholic and Public schools, will take place on Thursday Sept. 16th at 6:30 pm followed by a brief information session for parents and children
To help eliminate late registrations, please pass this info to anyone you know who may be looking for sacramental preparation for their children.
Classes for Public School registrants will begin Thursday Sept. 23rd at 6:30 pm in room 25 and each Thursday thereafter. Registration for classes at the Parish costs $30 for books.

Parish 30th Anniversary Celebrations
This fall, Nov. 30th, to be exact, will be the 30th anniversary of the establishment of our parish in Beacon Hill North. An event we plan to celebrate in different ways. First of all we are having a parish family picnic on Saturday Sept. 11. From 12 noon to 5 p.m. (followed by Mass). There will be card and board games, a talent stage, music, sports and children’s’ activities as well as a family corn roast picnic all taking place here at our Church and the park behind the Church. Please plan now to come and gather as a parish community to celebrate our 30th anniversary, and give thanks to God for the many blessing we have received over the years. I look forward to seeing you there.
As part of our 30th anniversary celebrations all parishioners are invited to bring their Pic Nic lunch, lawns chairs kids and grandparents and join in a day of fellowship, food and fun. Activities for all ages are planned. Regular Saturday 5 PM Mass to follow the Pic Nic.
Rain or shine, we hope to see everyone at the Parish Pic Nic on Sat. Sept. 11th Noon to 5 pm!

FROM OUR PASTOR’S DESK
No doubt you have noticed our recent acquisition of a wood sculpture depicting “Pentecost” by Father Herman Falke, of the Sacred Hear Fathers, and mounted on the sanctuary wall of our Church. It is a most fitting companion to the first sculpture by Father of the Annunciation of The Lord. Just as the Holy Spirit came to Mary and, through her, Jesus, the son of the Living God, was born for our salvation, so too the Holy Spirit was sent to the Apostles of Jesus after He had ascended into heaven, empowering them to go forth and evangelize throughout the world, and thus the Church was born of the Holy Spirit. This beautiful and unique addition to our Church was hand-carved at a cost to us of only $2,500. Thus far, we have received $550 in donations for this carving, so any further donations of whatever size will be most gratefully accepted. Should you wish to donate towards the cost of this sculpture for our Church, please indicate on your cheque that it is for the “Pentecost” sculpture in our Church. Thank you for your generosity. |
Catechesis of the Good Shepherd
The catechesis of the Good Shepherd is now receiving new children who would like to join those who have already started a joyful journey in the knowledge on God. The ideal age for the child to start is when they are 3 years old. However if they did not have the opportunity to join the program before, they are welcome to do so now.
The program has three different levels according to the age of the child. From 3 to 6 years old, level one. For 6 to 9 years old, level two, and for 9-12 years old, level three.
There is a fee per family. The program will be run from October 2010 to March 2011, with some classes on Saturday mornings.
First term: From October 2nd to December 22.
Second term: From February 1st to April 16th.
Family Fee per year: $150 payable to Annunciation of the Lord.
